20 August 2012

I have been trying to remind myself that each day is another chance towards progress and improvement. There is a lot of difficulty in constantly repeating this mantra, but it is necessary.

I am the type who wants to do everything at once. I want to excel in every type of activity. Often, my mind becomes overwhelmed by the excitement of every individual opportunity. I feel energized. I feel livid. Then suddenly, the feeling crashes and my mind becomes overwhelmed. I forget my motivation. I stare at the ground, feeling defeated before the endeavor has even began.

No more. There is so much to do and too much to be done. I must breakdown each task and work slowly to attain progress.

So far, this mentality has been working. I spent the day organizing. In a way, Sunday became Organizing Day. Friday was Dog Grooming/Room Disinfecting Day. Saturday was Recovery Day because I had a horrible migraine.

I'm trying to accomplish things in my room/my parent's new home. We are still settling into the house.

I need to piece together my life and organize a plan for success. I should also figure out my study strategy for the GRE. I really want to do well. Sigh.

Alas, no sulking for me. These are all small steps on the path to self-improvement. I must remain strong for my future :] !

Sunday's Accomplishments

  • organized my clothes/closet, sorted through our crafting supplies, rummaged through memory boxes
  • organized my desk and office supplies
  • finished paperwork for the pet license
  • wrote some cards. I still need to write one more. I can't find the words for that last card, though! :/ (that problem when you have too much/so much to say, but you don't know how! Yeahh.. :T)
  • groomed the dogs - day three of this! I didn't brush their teeth today, tho :T the brushing only lasted two days in a row. BOO. RESTARTING IT TOMORROW!
  • figured out some finances
  • organized two e-mail accounts and added labels. THEY ARE AMAZING!
  • researched a program of interest
  • e-mailed two people. I hope they respond soon! (one professor and one admissions representative. EEKS!
Saturday's Accomplishments
  • cleaned the kitchen tiles
  • cleaned the house/floors, but was scolded for doing it wrong
  • ...felt sick. This was not an accomplishment T__T
  • studied the introduction for my test prep
  • passed out for most of the day because I felt sick -__-
  • groomed/brushed the dogs - day two of this! :D

This is my slice of optimism for the day. I must be proud of these small accomplishments! Haha. Next: more thoughtful and eloquent posts. Writing skills are essential and whatever skills I have attained during undergrad must not perish!
