28 December 2010

It's as rare as finding your lucky penny on the street. You know, the lucky penny that's face up and has your birth year on it? The one that shimmers to you beneath the dust and stands out among the grass, foliage, and gravel, beckoning to you to pick it up.

(I *think* that's how the story goes. Excuse the errors if there are any. I can't remember if it's face up or face down. The latter would bring you bad luck, so you avoid those. HRM. Darnit. Childhood story books from reading time in class. Gahh, my darned memory!!)

My point is that this is rare, but it sometimes happens! (like the little boy in the storyy!! xD AHAHAHA damn him -__-)

Dad and I had a long conversation/bonding time on the car ride home from Stockton last night. We used to spend our weekends at Barnes and Nobles together, but as I got older, the trips became less frequent. It was nice to have the chat. Reminiscent of a pep talk, though it followed the guidelines of "this is going to be inspirational but will also make you think. I am your father and I think this is best for you" etc. !!

And he made me cry... tear up, oh gawd, I hope he didn't notice. Strong girls don't cry like wussies!! T__T or tear up. THEY ARE IMMUNE TO EMOTION! RAAAAWR!! O__O

Month’s of 2010

January
Did you have a new year’s resolution this year?
I had many. Kept some, and failed to live up to some. It's always going to be a process of self-improvement.

26 December 2010

I've spent the entire day bumming around in my room. More specifically, I stayed in bed for the longest time, unwilling to get up. Dreams are always more fun.

NYC: day 2

day two! :D
places we went to:
  • we used the subwaaay!
  • Ground Zero - the whole area has been blocked off for construction of the new 9/11 museum, so we didn’t really get to see much
  • 9/11 memorial preview - showed some of the exhibits and artifacts to be placed in the new memorial site
  • St. Paul’s Church - where george washington got inaugurated. it’s across the street from the WTC. there’s a lot of 9/11 information in the church. the graveyard in the front is ancient. was a bit scary and intimidating >___<
  • Wall St. - saw the New York Stock Exchange and passed by the Museum of American Finance. NY Stock Exchange is closed to the public. I WAS SO SAD! And I was disappointed that the area was super :[
  • Goodburger - it was okay. Good, but not the best. OMG, customer service was terrible here! I felt stupid trying to order :[
  • China Town - reminiscent of the one in SF. I felt like I was in Vietnam (Asia)/SF
  • cheap snack place in China Town. $1 for chicken skewers and fried fish balls :]
  • Prince St. Cafe - to use the wifi and grab coffee. IT WAS SO COLD OUTSIDE. yuum, Americano
  • Little Italy
  • Lombardi’s Pizza - wasn’t overly impressed. yelp got me really excited. high expectations, I suppose. it was good. the crust was amazing. the basil tasted great. but yeah.. again, they weren’t so nice. it’s a bit overhyped. hated how the toppings costed extra! :[ $20 with tip on a pizza with NO MEAT OMG :[ I like my protein.. :[
  • THE MEATBALL SHOP - BEST PLACE WE WENT TO!!! service was awesome! ambience was suuuper nice! and tasty eats! sad part: we got some meatballs to go, and the oil spilled into our bag :[
  • Museum of Sex - intriguing and educational. a lot of bad reviews on yelp. I was pleasantly surprised. it was informative and entertaining. the animal exhibit was awesome!!! along with the photograph of the necrophiliac duck xD wtf?!
  • MACYS! - to check out the displays and briefly browse around
  • 53rd and 6th St food cart for some TO GO~
  • various gift shops
  • back to Time Square~ <3
  • Yoshinoya for take out beef bowl
so ends our second day. OFF TO THE STATUE TOMORROW!! omg I need sleep x___x

12/13/10

4:06 PM
so 6:06 PM in Chicago?

Delayed flights are no fun. An hour isn't so bad, but the layover is already three hours, the additional waiting time is a drag :[ At least bf gets to nap. Poor K has been tired all day :[ WAHH.

As an effort to be more productive, and to improve my writing( take more pictures), I have decided to take on the Project 365 challenge, which has become very popular among bloggers. Every day, I'll post a picture and a short blog, just because I used to write so much when I was younger. It helped my memory a lot. These days, it feels as though everything becomes a blur. Events and changes become blended into a large mess, and it is difficult to define specific moments. The drunken moments are especially hard to recall. I'm STILL trying to remember the specifics from months ago *ahem* :/

Today has been our travel day! We only slept about three hours, due to packing and last minute preparations, then we had to get ready to go to the airport. Z slept on my legs all night xD I woke up multiple times, wondering where the extra weight came from xD too cuuuutee!!

We arrived at the San Jose airport at 7:30 AM with croissants from K's parents :] it was delicious with our morning Jamba Juice. Croissants, lightly coated with sugar :D they really took care of me this weekend. It was so nice. I'm not used to it because it's usually family/relatives who do that. I'm so grateful!!

The flight to Chicago went well. We were unable to find a seat together, but someone was kind enough to move for us. It was super sweet~ I watched a baby get fed. A flight attendant held the baby while the mom spoon fed him. HE WAS SO ADORABLE! :D Bright, pretty eyes, and a lively, energetic smile.

In the back of my mind, I heard C saying, "OMG ANNA, I want one!" HAHA xD

Note: Small acts of kindness really do make your day :]
